Fanshawe College in London Ontario organized a Renew the Environment urban design competition for College and University students in Ontario. The goal of the competition was to improve the Western Fair District in London in a social, environmental and profitable way. Two specialists not related to London were invited to be part of the jury; Professor Michael von Hausen from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver (author of the book Dynamic Urban Design) and Dutch sustainable building professor Anke van Hal. Both gave a lecture to students of Fanshawe College the day before the day the students presented their work.
