CaGBC 2016 in Toronto

The Dutch delegation (largest from Europe in fact) visit to CaGBC 2016 in Toronto was a success.  The companies ANDRS, Verosol, Jaga, Priva and Reppel had their respresentatives at the pavilion. Also Parallel 52 was represented by Anke van Hal, one of the initiators.  Overall, the exhibition, next to the conference was a good way to interact with the 1500 attendees: city planners, architects, local government agencies and companies.  During the week Parallel 52 organized a virtual meeting at CISCO offices (Toronto, Amsterdam) in which greening of exisiting offices was the topic.

Architect Paul de Ruiter visits Toronto

Dutch architect Paul de Ruiter, one of the most inspiring green architects in The Netherlands, is a keynote speaker during the CaGBC-conference Building Lasting Change 2016 in Toronto, June 6 till 8. He will speak about the CO2-neutral society in the morning of June 7.

Canada 150 Environmental Design Competition 2017

Challenge your design students by entering the Canada 150 Environmental Design Competition 2017. College and university students from Canada and abroad are invited to create designs of Canadian local places, natural and built environments on the theme Proud, Strong and Free to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday.

Dutch jury member in Ontario student competition

Fanshawe College in London Ontario organized a Renew the Environment urban design competition for College and University students in Ontario. The goal of the competition was to improve the Western Fair District in London in a social, environmental and profitable way. Two specialists not related to London were invited to be part of the jury; Professor Michael von Hausen from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver (author of the book Dynamic Urban Design) and Dutch sustainable building professor Anke van Hal.

International Wood Day 2015

The international Wood Day  2015 in Castellum Hoge Woerd in De Meern was a great succes with 180 participants and both national and international speakers.

As previous editions this event on November 26 themed 'Vooruitgangspunt hout' had a structure of plenary and round table sessions. The speakers inspired participants with among others high-rise timber structures, wood building methods, wood innovations and building earthquake-proof with wood.
